For the sake of inclusion, a one day movie is a film that takes place for the vast majority over a single 24 hour period (or less). They can have breif prologues or epilogues that take place on a different day (Speed, Can’t Hardly Wait, Shawn of the Dead, etc.), or mess with the timeline, while keeping the focus on the day or day-in-the-life of the characters (Groundhog’s Day, Timecrimes, Triangle, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure etc.).

My Schedule Predictions

Made on 5/15/11, before Fox released their schedule but after NBC released their’s.  Probably extremely inaccurate but it’s fun to see.

NEW SERIES

Grimm – Dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. (Fridays 9pm)

Prime Suspect – An adaptation of the popular British miniseries, this version focuses on an iconoclastic female detective making her bones in a tough New York precinct dominated by men. (Thursdays 10pm)

The Playboy Club – This sexy drama, set in the 1960s, explores the lives of working-class Playboy bunnies and the men who loved them. It’s set mainly at the famous Playboy club in Chicago — where crooners, mob bosses, politicians and the city’s elite come to play.  (Mondays 10pm)

Whitney – Based on the comedy of its star, Whitney Cummings, this multi-camera comedy focuses on a young couple and the ups and downs of a committed relationship in today’s complicated world. (Thursday 9:30pm)

Free Agents – Based on the UK format, this single-camera romantic comedy looks at the attraction between two quirky co-workers who are both on the rebound, one from a divorce and the other from the loss of a fiancé. (Wednesday 8:30pm)

Up All Night – An irreverent look at parenthood from the perspectives of an acerbic working mother, her stay-at-home husband, and her outspoken mom and dad. (Wednesday 8pm)

MIDSEASON

Awake – After an accident, a cop wakes up to find he is living in two different realities, in this “Inception”-esque thriller.

Smash – Based on an idea by Steven Spielberg, this dramatic series follows diverse characters who come together to put on a Broadway musical. (Mondays 10pm)

Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea – Inspired by Chelsea Handler’s life, this raucous multi-camera comedy follows the lives of a group of twentysomethings living and working together, headed by a very outspoken young woman.

Bent – Single-camera romantic comedy about a recently divorced single mother who tries hard not to fall for the sexy “surfer-dude” contractor she hires to renovate her kitchen.

The Firm – Based on the blockbuster feature film and best-selling novel by world-renowned author John Grisham (“The Pelican Brief,” “The Client”), “The Firm” continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere and his family 10 years after the events of the film and novel.

Terra Nova – A family from 100 years in the future travels back in time 150 million years to prehistoric Earth in order to correct the damage that has been done to the earth and save the world. (Mondays 8pm)

Allen Gregory – Animated comedy that focuses on the life of an accomplished seven-year-old boy embarking on the greatest challenge of his life: attending elementary school. (Sundays 8:30pm)

The New Girl – Young ensemble starring Zooey Deschanel as an unlucky-in-love elementary school teacher who moves away from her former boyfriend and in with three unruly guys. (Tuesdays 9pm)

I Hate My Teenage Daughter – Two mothers, Nikki and Annie, now must raise daughters who are exactly like the girls who picked on them in high school. (Wednesdays 9:30pm)

MIDSEASON

Alcatraz – A crime drama involving our country’s most infamous prison and the team investigating the mysterious reappearance of its 1960s inhabitants in the present day. (Mondays 8pm)

The Finder – Based on the book “The Knowland Retribution” by Richard Greener, this “Bones” spin-off will follow Walter Sherman, a veteran who specializes in finding people and things that no one else can. (Thursdays 9pm)

Napoleon Dynamite – Animated series based on the film of the same name. (Sundays 8:30pm)

Touch – A single father raising an autistic son who has never spoken discovers that his son is actually communicating with him through a complex series of numbers, and may even be able to predict events before they happen.

Charlie’s Angels – Based on the 1970s classic, this remake will be a modern take on the Angels, and will be set in Miami. (Thursdays 8pm)

Once Upon A Time - When a young boy who purports to be her son shows up on her doorstep, Anna Swan is drawn into a town where the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be real and hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of her troubled past. (Sundays 8pm)

Pan Am – A sexy soap set against the Jet-Age, focusing on the stewardesses and pilots and their glamorous world full of exciting adventures. (Sundays 10pm)

Revenge – Emily Thorne has a secret. She’s new to the Hamptons. She’s rented a beautiful house on the water for the summer and she’s welcomed into the spectacular community by her neighbors. Little do they know, that every kind gesture is an invitation to their own downfall in this primetime soap. (Wednesday 10pm)

Last Man Standing – Even though the world around him has declared the traditional male an “endangered species,” Tim Fitzgerald is fighting for his manhood in a world that is being increasingly dominated by women. (Tuesdays 8pm)

Man Up – A unique look at what it takes to survive as a modern man, as told through the eyes of three best friends and the women in their lives. (Tuesdays 8:30pm)

Suburgatory – In this satirical look at life in the suburbs, a quintessentially New York City girl moves to a cookie-cutter community only to discover that life in the ‘burbs is more frightening than any horror movie that she’s ever seen. Tonally, this is a heightened view of suburbia with a cinematic quality that evokes the scope and horror of perfection. (Wednesdays 8:30)

MIDSEASON

Scandal – Drama revolving around the life and work of a professional fixer and her dysfunctional staff. The fixer character is based on the career of Judy Smith, the legendary crisis management consultant, who over the course of the last 20 years has guided numerous corporations, politicians, celebrities and public figures through crises and scandals.

Good Christian Belles – This primetime drama series is a fun, provocative, sexy soap set in Dallas that asks the questions – is it possible to start over in a town that thinks they already know you? Amanda, once the ultimate “mean girl” in high school, returns home to Dallas after her marriage ends in scandal.

The River – A cinema verite drama following a crew through the deep Amazon in search of a missing adventurer.

Apartment 23 – After a naïve Midwestern girl’s big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare.

Work It – Two out-of-work car salesmen realize that it is now a woman’s world and decide that in order to find work again and succeed they are going to have to dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceutical reps.

Missing – When a female FBI agent’s son is kidnapped she travels all over Europe to find him.

Person of Interest – Crime drama centered on an ex-CIA agent, presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes in New York City. (Thursdays 9pm)

Unforgettable - A female NYPD detective possesses the special ability to remember everything and, although a gift in her job, it’s also a curse in her personal life. (Tuesdays 10pm)

A Gifted Man – Ultra-Competitive surgeon’s life is changed forever when his ex-wife dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the hereafter. (Fridays at 8pm)

2 Broke Girls – Two broke girls, one expensive city — two broke 22-year-old girls tackle life in New York City (Brooklyn, to be exact) as they try to make their dreams come true. (Mondays 8:30pm)

How To Be A Gentleman – Based on the book of the same name, “How to Be a Gentleman” is a male buddy comedy that follows an unlikely friendship between a traditional, uptight columnist and his rough-around-the-edges friend and trainer. (Thursdays 8:30)

MIDSEASON

The 2-2 – Six NYPD rookies struggling to balance their personal lives with their new beats on the streets of Manhattan.

The Ringer – On the run from the mob, a troubled young woman hides out by inhabiting the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns that her twin’s life has a bounty on it as well. (Tuesdays 9pm)

The Secret Circle – Based upon the book series by L.J. Smith (author of “The Vampire Diaries” book series), The Secret Circle is the story of a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers that not only is she a witch and part of a secret coven, but she’s also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. (Thursdays 9pm)

Hart of Dixie – Culture shock awaits a young New York City doctor after she inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town inhabited by an eclectic and eccentric group of characters in this comedic drama. (Mondays 9pm)

H8R – Reality series about celebrities confronting their h8ers. (Wednesday 8pm)
