Handy Guide to 2011 Fall TV

Once again, here is my guide to the ins and outs of 30 new shows premiering in the fall of 2011.

  • SYNOPSIS – A description of the series premise.
  • /tv/ CRED – What aspects of the series might be of interest to you?
  • THE BUZZ – What critics and bloggers who have seen the series are saying.
  • THE /tv/ EQUATION – My mathematical formula for best explaining the series.
  • /tv/ COMPATIBILITY RATING – How likely the series is to appeal to viewers from /tv/. Not a judgment of series quality.

One Day Movies

Here’s a chart I just made of 210 single day movies.  There’s something about time constrained films that makes them just fun and exciting to watch.

For the sake of inclusion, a one day movie is a film that takes place for the vast majority over a single 24 hour period (or less). They can have breif prologues or epilogues that take place on a different day (Speed, Can’t Hardly Wait, Shawn of the Dead, etc.), or mess with the timeline, while keeping the focus on the day or day-in-the-life of the characters (Groundhog’s Day, Timecrimes, Triangle, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure etc.).

2010 Film & Television /tv/ Survey Results

The results of the 2010 film and television /tv/ survey are finally complete, presented to you now in the images below.  Lots of really interesting data and statistics, both on the films and shows that were most loved, and on the demographic makeup of the board and its ratings.

Obvious troll responses were mostly purged, though of course many still must have gotten through. As I said in the original thread a week and a half ago, results won’t be scientific and trolls are guaranteed. Still, these are about as accurate of results you’re gonna get from a 1-day crackpot survey on /tv/. So enjoy.

Original Film Posters

For fun and also to help me improve my photoshop skills, I set off on a project to make original posters for my 30 favorite films, working in alphabetical order.  The project is on hold for now (working on it 12 hour days for a week in a row will do that to you), but I present the eight posters that I have completed so far below for your perusal.

My most recent poster was for Tarsem’s masterpiece “The Fall“.  This one took an extremely long time to complete, but I think it was worth it.The other seven after the jump.
